GRP Short Throw Shifter Kit for Lotus Evora, Evora S, 400, 410,430, GT, Exige V6 Cars & Emira

Regular price $95.00

The Lotus Evora has had some improvements to its shifter over the years and the Emira gained the latest iteration of that from Lotus but there is always room for even more improvement!  The gear shift is just one of those areas, the feel of the shift has a sporty feel however it is let down by the amount of travel in the gear stick. This short/quick shifter set has been developed to offer a crisp, short, and precise gear changing experience.

We have taken a previously designed kit and made that even better with our own special design that is Lotus V6 6-Speed specific.  This new updated design keeps the shift cable attachment point on the top of the bell crank so there is no binding and easy shifting in all gears.   Our new design is also still adjustable!  Adjust the throw of the shifter from 45-60% shorter.

The body of the short shifter is machined from solid aluminum, then finished in black anodizing for protection and durability. The grade 8 adjuster pin fits perfectly into the body of the shifter for easy install and adjustment.

Installation requires zero permanent modifications and takes about 30 minutes.

Kit includes:

  • GRP Machined Short Shifter Body
  • Hardware for attaching cable to body
  • New bronze bushing rod end for shift cable

*You will reuse your factory cotter pin.

Only a set of pliers, flashlight and two 10mm end wrench's are required.

Basic install:

  • Remove rear engine cover (if applicable) by pulling upward out of the rubber ball sockets on each corner.
  • Remove cotter clip from stock linkage on shift cable - be careful not to drop it!
  • Pull stock cable end up off of the bell crank.
  • Remove factory rubber bushing cable end from cable with two 10mm end wrench's.
  • Install pre-assembled GRP shifter body onto the shift cable first. (You will want to have it adjusted to your desired setting prior to install to keep things as easy as possible although it is adjustable once installed as well)
  • Thread the rod end onto the cable so that the shifter maintains a centered/neutral position. As long as you dont pull/push on the cable it should stay put in the center position and you will just need to thread it on until shifter body lines up and drops onto the bell crank.   This can be a little tricky with the shifter body attached to the rod end already but its doable!   (You can also install it separately but we have found this method the easiest)
  • Due to manufacturing tolerances the new short throw body may require a bit of a squeeze to get it to seat down onto the bell crank full allowing for the cotter pin to be inserted.  This is much better than having a loosely fitting one causing slop!
  • Install safety clip to hold shifter body down in place

See product picture for diagram of adjusting the throw if you wish.   These come assembled in the longest throw placement so you can shorten it up from there by loosening the 10mm nut and sliding the rod end over on the body of the short shifter.
